I bet you’ve had some success with freelance writing.

Great news! I’ve discovered something that will help! Read More

“F.I.T.S.” SERIES: Featuring #freelancewriter DD, an Addicted-to-Heroin #Freelancer

FITS Series Welcome ImageFITS Series Welcome Image

Today’s post is an extra-special instalment of the F.I.T.S. (Freelancer In The Spotlight) Series on Wording Well, and the “Freelancer In The Spotlight” today is DD, who is addicted to heroin. (Hey, some freelancers have posed nude, so don’t judge…)

Rather than have her write the post in the same style of past FITS posts, I decided to ask her a few questions.

First, let’s meet DD.

Who is DD?

DD is short for Deemster Diva. She’s probably the most productive drug addict I know… not that I know that many… anymore… 😉

DD is on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+. She also blogs at Heroin Is My Heroin. DD is not her real name. I know what it is, but out of respect for her, I am not going to reveal it.

We will simply know her as DD.

I’ve had many conversations with her via email, and I don’t judge her for the drugs she chooses to do. She’s still a person, and she’s a freelancer, too.

Kinda makes for an interesting scenario, don’tcha think?

NOTE: Due to my recent announcement, I’m going to be blogging my True Tales Tuesdays posts on Lorraine Reguly: Laying It Out There, so if you’re a reader who loves those type of posts, then please subscribe to my author newsletter. You’ll get a free gift when you do!

Now please welcome DD to center stage, and listen to her answer a few questions. Read More

Become More Successful By Providing Others With a Personal Touch

Providing customers with a “personal touch” can go a long way. In fact, is often needed to make your business successful, whether you’re an entrepreneur, freelancer, business owner, coach, author, or blogger.

In this post, I’ll provide you with a personal case study of how one company won me over, and then I’ll list some key points about how you can provide a personal touch with people you work with or want to sell your products or services to. I’ll also indicate which of these I use when dealing with my own clients.

The one thing to remember is that word-of-mouth marketing is still one of the best types of marketing there is, and if you go out of your way for your customers, they’ll remember you, they’ll tell their friends, and you’ll gain new customers. Plus, your existing ones will become repeat customers. Win-win-win! Read More

Freelancing Tips From Kirsty Stuart #freelancingtips for #freelancers

Guilt often eats me up, and today is no exception.

Sigh.

Yesterday, I spent time with my niece, nephew, sister, brother-in-law, and parents. It was Family Day! 🙂

Family Day was originally created to give people time to spend with their families but it also provides a day off between New Years Day and Good Friday as they are approximately three months apart.

Because I’ve been making a few decisions regarding both of my websites and business, I’ve been too busy to prepare blog posts for you.

I even posted on my social media accounts I wasn’t going to publish a new post for you this week.

But, darn it, the guilt I felt just wouldn’t allow me to get away with NOT posting something.

So what I decided to do is simply share with you two great posts written by Kirsty Stuart, a freelance writer. If you’re not following her yet, I suggest you do so!

Find her on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.

Find me on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+, too! 😉

Dear Reader, Please Tell Me About YOU!

Midge's face

Dear Reader,

I want to know more about you.

I’d like to know what you do, where you blog, what your business is, if you have children and/or pets, what you might need help with… whatever!

Tell me anything you want!

Just leave your reply in the comments.

I really do want to know more about you. Why? Two reasons:

1. I’m genuinely interested in knowing who is reading my blog, and how I can help you in the future.

2. I’m going to be revamping my site soon. Getting a new logo, installing a new theme, deleting some old posts, etc., and I want to make sure I’m serving you properly.

I would also like to know:

  • what you like about my blog
  • if you find value in my posts
  • what you like BEST about Wording Well
  • what you want more of
  • what you want less of

and whatever else you want to say!

Feel free to include a link to your site, too. 🙂

DON’T BE SHY. DON’T EDIT YOUR RESPONSES. Heck, if you don’t want me to approve your comment (make it visible for everyone to see), then tell me to delete it after I read it.

I just want to dialogue with you! I’ll respect your wishes, too. 🙂

I look forward to getting to to know you better!

Talk to you soon!

~Lorraine
