Last year, I submitted one of my True Tales Tuesdays posts, How I Nearly Died, to a memoir anthology. This book is now being sold on Amazon, too!
THIS IS A ‘TRUE TALES TUESDAYS’ POST
It’s been almost 9 years since I had two operations on my right leg. Today, I will share my story about what I went through to save my leg, and the amazing machine that helped me heal.
*To protect the identity of the people involved in this story, I will be referring to them only by their initials. And be warned – this is the longest post I’ve ever written and published on this blog. It’s also a very personal story, and was something I’ve been coping with for years. Read More
THIS IS A ‘TRUE TALES TUESDAYS’ POST
A Short Story, Written by Lorraine Reguly, in 1998.
Intended audience: preteens and teenagers
Title: My Best Friend
Snoopy was her name, and I loved her immensely. She was a tiny, grey dog; part Chihuahua, part Poodle, and part mutt. She belonged to my grandparents, who lived next door, but I always thought of her as my dog, because I was the one who took care of her, especially when my grandparents went on vacation.
Snoopy and I were best friends. We were almost the same age; in human years, she was one year older than me. I fed Snoopy, played with her, made her do tricks, took her for walks, and even changed her dirty, stinky newspapers that she used for a toilet. (I didn’t particularly enjoy doing this, but I wanted to show everyone how grown-up and responsible I could be. So I did it almost everyday, holding my breath until the acrid smell was safely contained in a garbage bag.) It was during these times that I felt special; loved, wanted and needed. The bond between us grew stronger until she loved me as much as I loved her. She was always there for me, and always would be. Or so I thought. Read More
THIS IS MY TRUE STORY OF HOW I NEARLY DIED.
I’ll never forget the weekend of August 24-26, 2012 as long as I live. It was the weekend that marked a major, life-changing event. I nearly died that weekend. The weird thing is – I’m actually grateful for this experience, because it led me to my son.
Let me tell you about it.
What happened in my life and how I nearly died:
On Friday, August 24, 2012, I went to Bingo. I ordered and drank iced tea that evening, and began feeling a bit weird. I got a stomachache, and began feeling nauseous. I hadn’t eaten anything, so I knew I didn’t have food poisoning. I thought that maybe the iced tea was tainted. I don’t think I will ever know if it was, for sure. I just know that I felt fine beforehand. Read More
Today’s post is a personal one, similar to the True Tales Tuesdays posts I used to write.
I’m writing it for a few reasons, the main one being to let you know that I’ve FINALLY been diagnosed!
You see, the last few months, I kinda knew that something was wrong with me. I have been really tired, for no apparent reason. I even lost interest in blogging, although I’ve been publishing at least one post per week since 2014 and two posts per week the year before that.
I also have been publishing posts a few times a month on my author site, Laying It Out There.
Not to mention, I’ve been busy writing and editing for clients, doing website work on both my site as well as another client’s site, and working on landing a HUGE ghostwriting project.
I’ve also been doing a bit in the way of guest posting, and have participated in a few podcasts (and have a few more lined up). In fact, one is a live show/interview with Barbara Ehrentreu that is going to be broadcasted on Blog Talk Radio on May 23rd, 2015, at 4 PM EST, and another is a Q & A with David Ralph that will be available on May 29th, 2015, on Join Up Dots. I’m scheduled to record another podcast, too, on June 2nd, 2015, with Drs. Rob and Janelle on Authors Talk About It, although I don’t know yet when that podcast will be available.
While you might think that all of these things, combined, is enough to cause me to be tired, you are wrong. I’m normally a very productive individual!
However, I’ve not been spending much time on my laptop lately, due to a funk I was in.
The good news is that I have a REAL reason for feeling the way I have been.
I’m not as healthy as I should be.
In fact, I’ve been dealing with a few different health issues for the past year.
Now, I have to warn you that you might want to skip the first section of this post, as I get REALLY personal with my health issues. I would like for you to read about My Second Health Issue, however, and continue reading from there.
If you’re always tired, you might have the same problem as I do, and don’t know it! Read More
