One of My Blog Posts is now a PowerPoint Presentation on Slideshare!

Last Updated on: May 6th, 2014

THIS IS A ‘TRUE TALES TUESDAYS’ POST

At the beginning of August 2013, I wrote an article that explained the Top 10 Tips For Making A Good Impression.

At the beginning of October 2013, I found out that a teacher added a link to my site for his students to refer to. When I was notified of this backlink, I decided to send him a thank-you note (email). He responded to me, and told me that “it was the most helpful site I found for my students”.

Talk about a nice compliment!  I was honoured to be chosen!

Since the blogging and marketing “pros” advise turning posts into podcasts, videos, presentations, etc, I decided to turn the aforementioned post into a Slideshare presentation using my newly purchased PowerPoint program. I really enjoyed creating this. For a non-techie like myself, I feel a great sense of accomplishment!

Of course, the technology has already been created for me, and all I have to do is a few simple things with the click of my mouse. Easy-peasy stuff — anyone can do this! No wonder Slideshare is becoming so popular!

As always, I’d love it if you share this AND/OR left me a comment. You know how much I love comments! 🙂

It is good to hear such achievement! Upon reading this, I agreed that technology is just in front of every one of us and all we should do is to try and explore them. Fortunately, most of it, like slide share, is very user friendly but have various features we can use for our intent. Slide share is truly conquering the presentation world and has proven its versatility. I think this blog doesn’t only promote slide share but it also encourages everyone to try something new as there is no harm in trying. In fact, there is always a joy in doing something new and being recognized because of it. Congratulations and thank you for sharing this news to us!

Mark, thank you for your comment. 🙂 I’m glad you liked this news!

I’m still learning how to use Slideshare, but I plan on using it more and more. 🙂

I like learning new things. When I come across something I like or don’t know how to do, I ask myself, “How did they DO that? How can I do that?” and then I try looking for the answers. One example is How To Use Click To Tweet Links in Your Blog Posts. I wanted to be able to do that, and now I know how! (I wrote that article for myself as much as anyone else!) 🙂

      • I know the feeling. I had been dragging my feet about learning how to use MailChimp to deliver my blog posts and newsletter, but then Molly Greene asked if I’d like to do a guest post on it, and of course I said yes. Now I know all about MailChimp 🙂

I found the link to your post about How To Use MailChimp. I think I’m going to have to read it, in full, to learn about this service. After my emailing catastrophe, I think I’d better! LOL

Thanks for making me aware of this, Jeri. 😉 I appreciate it!

  2. Hey Lorraine Great job!
Did you add it to the original post too? Always a good idea.

I did this too last month and it got 650 views on slide share. Crazy. I sent you a few tips in an email too.

    Keep up the great work

As of right now, it is not a part of my original post. I’ll add it, though, as well as a link to this post.

Thanks for the tips, for the praise, and your comment! 😀

I love learning how to do different things!

  3. What a wonderful compliment from a teacher, Lorraine. You can be very proud.

I just realized you have “Nightmares” from Goodreads on your blog. Thank you. That was a wonderful surprise. I’ll share your blog on Facebook. Thanks again.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool to be chosen as the créme de la créme of all the posts listed on a search engine. 🙂

Btw, I like the colours you decided to go with on your latest blog. 🙂

Lorraine…Since I first started following your blog (at the very beginning, I think), you have made remarkable progress. You should be proud.

    • Lorraine Marie Reguly says

Yes, I have come a long way in a relatively short time, haven’t I, Fearless Leader? 😉 I am proud of myself; it seems like I can achieve almost anything if I set my mind to it.

I am really happy that you’re still following my blog and my progress, Toby. It truly means a lot to me. 😀
